A Workshop with a difference ! . . . . .

For the third year in a row the Society organised a one-day Workshop in the Oldham area, once again in the Methodist church in Shaw.  For the choir, it was preparation for the performance of St Matthew Passion on Palm Sunday (April 1st) in the Royal Northern College of Music, but about a dozen other singers came along to learn about this great work and its background and to rehearse it.

Once again the workshop was led by Philip Robinson, who is an expert in Multi-media Music Presentations. He is conductor of Grantham Choral Society, and accompanist of the acclaimed female choral group “Cantamus”. For more information see Philip’s web site.

The workshop was very well-attended – about 100 people – and was a great success.
