This concert was very well attended and enjoyed both by performers and audience.  Though nominally a concert performance, soloists and chorus sported costumes more or less appropriate to the parts they played.  The soloists, all of whom are experienced G&S performers, acted their various parts with gusto and members of the chorus marched and clowned in some of the set pieces.  Donald Maxwell outlined the plots and provided continuity in his customary highly entertaining style.  The orchestra, well known for their G&S performances at the Buxton Festival, were excellent throughout.
